Joacim Mårtensson won the Swedish Open

HöGSTA, Sweden -- Victory in the Swedish Open for 24 year old Joacim Mårtensson of Sweden. His score (54-55-57-62) for a total of 228 kicks (-48), put him three kicks in front of sweden's Tommy Svensson. Simon Bruce took third place.

In sunny conditions on Saturday; Markus Thurlin had the lead after the first round with a score of 53 kicks (-16), one shot ahead of Joacim Mårtensson and Tommy Svensson both on -15.

After round two of play, the stage was set for the sunday finale. Joacim Mårtensson played the two first rounds for an aggregate of 109 kicks to put himself in the lead going into the two concluding rounds. Markus Thurlin, who led after the first round, faded away just scoring a mediocre 63.

After a  solid performance in the third round, Mårtensson sat quite confident in the driver's seat to land his first title on the tour. An eight kicks lead going into the final round.

Mårtensson was never really threatened in the final round. He could defile in on the eighteenth hole as the new Swedish Open Champion.
